The Gobbins Coastal Path

The Gobbins Coastal Path is a fantastic walk from Whitehead up towards Larne but along the cliffs.  It recently re-opened after many years, having fallen into neglect and subsequently had to be mostly closed because it was dangerous.  Now after a major refit it is back in business and open for visitors, whether casual walkers, serious walkers, biologists, botanists or just day trippers.

The walk from Whitehead up to Blackhead Lighthouse is stunning in itself, I can only imagine that the full walk… which takes about 3 hours, out and back, will be stunning.  Weather may well be a factor as you are on occasions only a ‘gnats nudger’ above the waves at high tide, so an easterly wind may best be avoided.

It is a good hours drive from Merok Mill House to Whitehead, but well worth the trip I’m sure.

Cant wait to experience it and will update with images when we do.
